Our new home is so similar to our old one, it's almost spooky! But we know that God is our provider and provided just what we needed here in LaPine...or L.A. Pine as we fondly refer to it. I've been settled here for about three weeks now and am rapidly getting the house organized and decorated, although with me, that's never really complete! Our home consists of an 1804 sp. ft. single level ranch with craftsman type accents both in and out, and was, of course, designed with the help of Matthew. The great room area sports vaulted ceilings and archways from the entry and hallways, lots of windows, and a corner rock fireplace with mantel. The large kitchen, which I'm really loving, but do find myself taking lots of steps, has character hickory cabinets and floors, under cabinet lighting and a black speckled with browns and grays granite tile countertop, and corner sink. The cabinets are so tall I consistently have to use my step stool, so try not to put items we use alot on the very top shelves. Plus there's a double bi-fold door pantry! I have storage galore!
Our master bedroom is so large, also has great windows and vaulted ceilings. The master bath
has tile floor and countertops, two vanity sinks, a tile-look preformed shower, and a separate soaker tub, with rainglass window above it. And last of course is the walk in closet, big enough for all our clothes and then some!
A short walk down the hall on the left is the utility room, still not as large as I'd like, but does have 2 upper cabinets. Next comes the guest room, which we've kept decorated with lots of gathered treasures and photos over the years, and remains decorated in an English garden, quilt and birdhouse theme. Very cozy and comfortable, and we're hoping will be used by lots of family and freinds, year-round!
The last bedroom looks onto the covered front porch, and looks very similar to Marc's room, and where we feel closest to him, because that's where the computer is set up and we communicate with he and Kerry a lot! The single captain's bed probably won't get used much, but makes us feel like he's not so far from home, and allows for additional guests when the need arises.
